Sigh. How wonderfully festive is that photo. Like a Christmas dream, am I right?
I first started following Cheri Neufeld’s blog roughly three years ago. Recipes like this simple chinese chicken and these philly cheesesteak sandwiches are all inspired from her. So delicious. I love and appreciate her fresh and minimal approach to cooking. No fuss, no long lists of scary ingredients, just pure and simple recipes that are built to be in serious rotation in your household. Week after week, year after year.
I was elated when she reached out to see if I would be willing to review her new ebook, Kitchen Simplicity – the Holidays. Yes, of course. My pleasure.
Wow, true to her nature it is simply a stunning book. Beautiful photograph after beautiful photograph that makes you not only drool out of pure hunger but you sort of start to wish that she was your mom. Her kids have got it made.
How perfect does a chai spiced banana bread sound for a cozy breakfast morning? She also makes a killer slow cooker roast chicken that would be so easy to turn on one holiday morning when you really don’t feel like cooking all that much. I’m also dying to try her easy peppermint truffles which include organic virgin coconut oil. Obviously that means they are good for you and you can eat as many as your heart wants. So getting those going this weekend for some holiday baking with the boys!
She also offers up four festive granolas for homemade gifts which are always the best kind of gift to give. Gingerbread and peppermint mocha are on the top of my wish list. Cookies for Santa also look to be another wonderful recipe and so fun to make with the kids.
Recipe after recipe and page after page makes you feel so wonderfully at ease when it comes to your holiday cooking, like it’s all totally doable. Which is it, with Kitchen Simplicity’s help. In partnering up together you can now receive 20% off her beautiful ebook with code ALifeFromScratch.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the little sneak peak. Thank you so much to Cheri for giving ALFS readers such a fun and festive sneak peak into your book. And congrats – it’s beautiful!

All of these recipes sound divine, but my issue is…how do I get her to come make them at my house?!
