Today is the day my home tour posts live over at Apartment Therapy (eek!) and with my blog being linked, I wanted to devote a whole post to welcoming any new visitors to A Life From Scratch and to let you know what goes down around here. I so hope you may want to stick around. We have a lot of fun in this little space!
To start, I’m Courtney. Hi! I’ve been writing this blog for almost five years. It captures what is going down in our lives from what I’m cooking in the kitchen to where we are headed on vacation to baseball field stories to stories about friendship to hard stories and fun stories and turmeric face masks (fountain of youth, people!) and big renovation projects and everything delicious in between. Yessiree, we are all about keeping you on your toes around here. Never a dull moment.
Speaking of which, I live in a home full of boys. Yep. So…..there’s that. To start, that’s my husband up there, Mike. He helped build up a small insurance benefit company, B Swift, which recently got bought by the large powerhouse, Aetna, so now he’s riding the corporate wave. And by riding the wave I mean wearing suits again.
I have two sons that split the rest of my heart. My oldest is Logan (9) and my youngest is Beckett (3). They are as BOY as they come. Growing up with only sisters, well, they continue to shock me daily with their antics. Boys are…….um……busy. And weird, so weird! Though I could eat them both I love them so. Even when they are driving me to hide alone in the bathroom with the door locked. Obviously, I’m kind of kidding.
We have started creating monthly videos should you want to get a better sense (in around just two minutes!) of what goes on around here. So fun! My three year old picked out the jams. Take a peak, if you’d like….
And finally, the best way to truly follow us along is on my Facebook Page should you want to check that out. Subscribing to my newsletter is also fun, it comes out each Sunday morning and includes a full meal plan + shopping list for the week because I love you, a seasonal recipe of the week, an uplifting quote, and a weekly ‘crush’. Because, SHOPPING!
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit us here, we truly appreciate it. I so hope you enjoyed the home tour. It was an absolutely wonderful (and delicious!) experience with Apartment Therapy! A big thank you to Arthur, Kristin, and Carlisle Wide Plank Flooring for making this all happen for our family, what a wonderful memory. I will never, ever, forget it.
Psst – did you check out my homepage? There is a pop up for a $100 Etsy gift card giveaway should you want to join our mailing list. Good luck to you!

Well, enjoyed perusing your site. Keep up the lovely work.
I’m so happy you enjoyed it – thank you for visiting me over here! Love that we have ‘simple chic’ in common 😉
