Eight hours on a flight to and from California means plenty of time to browse some new cozy recipes for fall. Some staples in this weeks line up but also some delicious new ones I can’t wait to try out for my family and yours. I hope this makes menu planning just a bit easier for you – let’s do this!
Sunday is a big day – Cubs play off game which means things get, well, intense. We’ll be decked out in our Cubs gear cheering them along all day. For dinner, I’m going way old school (read: comforting) with a recipe my dad actually requested to my mom recently. Apparently he ate it growing up and my mom, being the type of gal she is, found the recipe and made it for him and they loved it. It doesn’t scream health by any means (like not one single mean) but when comfort is what you crave it’s a sure fire hit. Hopefully just like the Cubs!
Monday let’s lighten things up, shall we? This tuscan vegetable soup is just the perfect way to do that.
Oh I am excited about this one. My neighbor got this one from her (our) neighbor down the road. She is an actual trained fancy real chef and my neighbors son exclaimed this was the ‘best chicken he’s ever eaten.’ I have the recipe all written down to test out and I have no doubt it will live up to the hype. I will keep you posted!
Another new one to test out this week from my fav new cook book Fed & Fit. Slow cooker smothered pork chops. Not only delicious but her version is way lightened up. Can’t wait to try out with our favorite garlicy roasted green beans on the side.
Thursday let’s go with a classic: his & hers pizza. Every one wins and bonus that all ingredients can be found at Trader Joes. Easy dinner, done.
After over a week of straight cooking mama is taking a night off. Boys, where are we going?
Happy cooking!

Is there a link for the Canyon Creek chicken recipe? Don’t see one and I am intrigued by the name.
The Sunday casserole sounds delish. Go Cubbies!!
So sorry, right now I just have it hand written! I will be testing it out and posting for sure pending it’s a hit 🙂
Thanks! Looking forward to it!
