Hi friends, can you believe school starts tomorrow? Oh my heart I don’t know how I feel about it. One minute I’m dancing for joy and the next minute I am crying in the corner. Such is motherhood, I suppose.
This week I tried to get some real ‘family friendly’ (as much as I hate that term) up on the blog this week for all our back to school kiddos. I’m hoping my boys will like some of the new ones I’m trying, I will definitely keep you posted! Without further ado, here is what we will be munching on this week.
Sunday our cooking club is reunited at our neighbors for a lovely pool party! I can’t wait! We all are bringing something, of course. I can’t wait to make this summer garbage salad for everyone.
Monday is Logan’s first day and I’m thinking a creamy mac and peas pasta will be a lovely way to end his day. (Linked recipe is original version, in my book 100 days of Real Food Fast & Fabulous she adds in peas). Fingers crossed!
Tuesday is a football night so slow cooker chicken fajitas will be bubbling away all day and ready when we are.
That brings us to Wednesday, and to B’s first day!! To celebrate them together, at last, we are going to get their favorite going on the grill: filets. A side of waffle friends and a caprese salad to round out the meal.
Thursday night is another football night. I’m going to make these (healthy!) sloppy joes during the day so come dinner time I can just warm up and serve.
Ah, Friday. I have big plans for a glass of wine while standing over my stove working on this amazing summer stew. An oldie but goodies, I had forgotten all about this one. Until now.
Happy cooking!
