Do you ever wonder other moms secrets? Like actual real beautiful day to day hard working moms? So often I see a darling one at the park and think wow, she looks so great! I wonder what she is doing so well. With that in mind I thought I’d begin a new series on ALFS – Everyday Moms. These are moms I know, moms that have been recommended to me, moms that inspire and are beautiful inside and out. Let’s peak into their lives just a bit, shall we?
Meet Danielle!
Location: Dodge Center, Minnesota
Job: Human Resources for Welsh Equipment, Inc.
Kids: Griffin (4) and Sophia (2)
You’re in your closet – what do you reach for first? J Crew boyfriend jeans and a J Crew striped t shirt on the weekend and usually a dress for work.
Hands down the one beauty product you can’t live without. Only one! MAC matte lipstick.
Your daily moisturizer. Are you happy with it? Ultra Repair Face moisturizer– I love this brand. It goes on so smooth and I put it on under my makeup.
Your nightly moisturizer. Are you happy with it? I have recently started using Glam Glow Hydrating treatment at night. I really like it.
Something in your shopping cart online right now that you want to buy – budget is no limit. I have been drooling over a Louis Vuitton bag. (Haven’t we all?)
How do you feel your beauty routine changed when you became a mom? I don’t think it has changed all that much. I have always loved makeup and still wear the same amount of makeup before kids. Of course I have days where if we aren’t leaving the house I don’t put any on but that was the same as before kids. I really love to look “put together” so I always make sure to make an effort on myself in the morning before getting my kids up for the day. So I guess the only thing that has changed is the time I have to wake up in the morning.
Biggest indulgence you allow yourself? Definitely makeup. It is my biggest splurge. Lipstick is my obsession.
Tell us about your kid(s). I have two kids. Griffin is 4 and Sophia is 2. Griffin is a very sweet boy with a mischievous side. I grew up with two sisters so having a boy first has definitely been a learning experience. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. He is the funniest kid and tells me I’m beautiful almost every day.
Sophia is a my fearless wild child. I thought having a girl second that she would be a lot calmer than my son. I was wrong. She loves to climb on everything and the sass is real. She is starting to get very into accessories. She has to wear a bow in her hair every morning and loves shoes.
What is your biggest struggle as a mom day to day? I would say my biggest struggle is living in the moment. I have a tendency to always be thinking ahead of all the stuff that needs to get done around the house etc. Sometimes I have to tell my self to take a breather and to sit down and play with my kids and worrying about cleaning up later. I am very OCD when it comes to cleaning.
What is your biggest happiness as a mom day to day? Now that my daughter is starting to talk more the thing that makes me happiest every day is seeing my kids communicate and laugh together. They are starting to have their own little conversations and I love to listen to them talking and laughing. Some things I don’t even understand Sophia saying Griffin does.
Snap your fingers – you could have a magic fairy help you with one thing around the home every day. What is it? To magically keep my bathrooms clean. Why do kids have to get water everywhere?
Because you are oh so pretty, tell us about your favorite feature! My favorite feature is my brown eyes. Growing up I didn’t really like them and always wished I had blue eyes but over the years I have grown to love them.
Lovely, Danielle. Thank you for sharing your darling family with us and yes – I can see why you love lipstick so much. You have the prettiest smile!
