Welcome to what we wore Wednesday – Lake Geneva style! We had a blast this past long weekend soaking up the sun, sand, and all that Lake Geneva has to offer. One off the beaten path spot, Mars, was our choice for dinner Friday night, as well as the back drop for our pictures. Dinner was delicious, although much of it was spent chasing B up and down the docks. I am happy to report that we all managed to stay dry! Whew.

Here is what we wore:

On L: Brooks brothers shorts, Crewcut tee, and his buddy R’s shoes.

On B: Crazy 8 striped shorts, Gap polo, Crocs.

On C: Don’t you LOVE when you pay next to nothing for a dress and people ask you over and over where it’s from? That would be Old Navy – early on in the season. Fisherman sandals from Nordstroms.

Brrr – where did summer go? Only mid 60’s on Tuesday – we were back to sporting skinny jeans and hoodies for What We Wore Wednesday. Not ok.

On L: He was off to the big city with Grammie for the day so we got decked out in a crewcut polo, abercrombie jeans, and hoodie if needed.

On B: This week he is sporting his new big boy hair cut – ahhhhh. Crewcut tee and hoodie, Gap junk food jeans, and crocs.

On C: This shirt brings me right back to the Rhinestone Cowgirl in Big Sky, MT. I literally could have bought the entire store but managed to do only a bit of damage, this shirt being part of it. It’s made by JW Los Angeles. AG jeans and Dolce Vita fisherman shoes.

Well hello there! After a few week hiatus from What We Wore Wednesday, we are back in action. I’m not quite sure why we took the break, as we’ve been enjoying fun summer clothes around here and in Big Sky, but apparently I’ve been lazy on the photo end. But not this week!

We headed off to one of our favorite farmers markets. The drive is a bit far but the flowers alone are worth it. And of course there is food, puppies, and balloons – oh my! Here is what we wore:

On L: Surfer tee from Crewcuts and Old Navy shorts. Some random basketball shoes he insisted on wearing (sigh), and of course his new fav accessory, his baseball all star medal.

On B: Crewcuts tee which made quite a few people laugh at the market. Crewcut shorts as well, and his brand new crocs which he is very proud of.

On C: I’ve been living in this dress! It’s from Boden. Birkenstock sandals courtesy of J Crew, and Ray Ban sunglasses.

Keeping it super real on What We Wore Wednesday this week.

Aside from today’s random weather, summer is officially here and we could not be soaking it up more. If we are awake, we are outside typically in some type of grass, mud, or baseball dust type set up. While showers seem to be needed every few hours our only rinse off on the weekend is a quick jump in the pool before it’s on to the next activity. During the week I’ve actually had to bathe B before nap and bed time because I just can’t fathom putting him in his crib in the condition he’s in. The other day I had to rinse off his feet and crocs in the sink eight times. Eight. 

And you know what? I love the mess. I love the dirty boys, eyeblack smeared down L’s face and grass stuck inside his stinky baseball socks. B always seems to have a layer of popsicle on him. Both their hair is a bit more wild and the tan lines are in full force. They, all of us, have seem to just come to life these past few glorious weeks and I don’t ever want to forget it. How they smelled – the good and the bad, how B’s cheeks jiggle so hard when he is running through the yard to keep up with the big kids, their ‘summer’ legs which consist of bites, scratches, bruises and half off bandaids. I’m ingraining it all in my memory because I know, so well, that one day it will be winter again and I will not want anything more than these exact moments.

So, while it’s not all that glamorous, this week, and for many weeks to come, we are wearing sunscreen, bug spray, a lot of dirt, and pool. And a bit of popsicle.
