Do you ever wonder other moms secrets? Like actual real beautiful day to day hard working moms? So often I see a darling one at the park and think wow, she looks so great! I wonder what she is doing so well. With that in mind I thought I’d begin a new series on A Life From Scratch: Everyday Moms. These are moms I know, moms who have been recommended to me, moms who inspire and are beautiful inside and out. Let’s peek into their lives just a bit, shall we?
Meet Mary Beth!
Location: Fox River Grove, IL
Job: Meyer Home CEO
Kids: Hannah (4) & Eden (2)
You’re in your closet – what do you reach for first? This summer is has been simple cotton dresses from Old Navy. Cute, comfortable and easy to dress up or down no matter what we have going on for the day. I have rotated about 5 dresses this summer and I love them. Summer forever.
Hands down the one beauty product you can’t live without. Only one! Mascara. I almost never leave the house without it. I like to replace my mascara every 6-8 weeks so I a simple Maybelline girl. My favorite tube of Lash Sensational Waterproof in blackest black is a must.
Your daily moisturizer. Are you happy with it? Coconut oil! I have hardcore jumped on the coconut oil bandwagon and can’t live without it! It feels so nice and smells like vacation.
Your nightly moisturizer. Are you happy with it? I am using Derma-e Anti-Wrinkle. I like it…it is thick but absorbs quickly and pretty pure so I feel good about fighting wrinkles with it.
Something in your shopping cart online right now that you want to buy – budget is no limit. A new pair of tall brown riding boots. I’m a pretty simple girl…
How do you feel your beauty routine changed when you became a mom? It has changed from sitting in front of my vanity putting on makeup and doing my hair for an hour to quick and on the go with a toddler at my legs begging me for a swipe of lipstick. I have become a less is more kind of girl and I am embracing it and going with it! There is nothing a little lipstick can’t jazz up.
Biggest indulgence you allow yourself. Mac Makeup. I used to buy tons of drug store make up (in an attempt to not spend an arm and a leg on makeup) but aside from a few choice things like mascara, you get what you pay for and most of my Target impulse buys quickly joined the makeup grave yard under my bathroom sink. When I turned 30 I decided I was done buying random junk every week at target and instead invest in the good stuff. I can totally tell the difference!
Tell us about your kid(s). We have 3 children- Hannah is 4, Eden is 2 and our heavenly son Gabriel who was born still this past August. Hannah is all girl…lover of all thinks pink. She is in love with ballet and Beckett. Eden is 2 and is spicy as ever. She loves animals, pacifiers, and being outside.
What is your biggest struggle as a mom day to day. Keeping the house clean! I feel like I am always picking up but somehow my house is always a disaster or laundry, toys and dishes. We are a busy on the go family and I somehow feel like the more we are gone the crazier our house gets.
What is your biggest happiness as a mom day to day. Playing with my kids….which is probably why my house is always a mess. I love coloring with them or taking them for walks. They are changing before my very eyes and I am so not okay with that so I try to spend every free second engaged with them.
Snap your fingers – you could have a magic fairy help you with one thing around the home every day. What is it? That’s easy! I would have cleaning fairies who could come over and take care of business so I could go play!
Because you are oh so pretty, tell us about your favorite feature! I have always loved my lips…especially with a pretty MAC lippie! HA!
Oh so lovely as always Mary Beth! That picture kills me. Thank you for sharing your darling family with ALFS and with our family. We are so happy and so blessed we have you all in our lives.
