We had an absolutely wonderful Mother’s Day in our home. I woke up to 4 dozen red and yellow tulips and Logan somehow purchased me a gift card to J Crew. He can’t read yet he knew the gift card said J Crew – perhaps that is a sign we’re there too often? Not possible. And hey – it’s teaching him how to read.
Anyways thanks to my boys, my sisters, my moms, dad, grandma and friends – everyone who made my day incredibly fun! After brunch I enjoyed a nap – yes a NAP in my new bedroom and after that we headed to the club for L to hit some balls with M. (It doesn’t get more adorable than that). I enjoyed a glass of wine with my dear friend and amazing mom Catherine. The night couldn’t have been more fun. All that was missing was a Bulls win!
Well, onto the most important part of the day – the food! Thank you to my mom, sister, and sister in law for helping cook so much. Here was our menu (all from scratch), accompanied by pictures of the perfect spring day. Enjoy!
Appetizers: Spring rolls & walnut, honey, orange, & goat cheese spread served on toasted baquettes.
Main Course: Egg strata, braised balsalmic chicken sausages, roasted asparagus served with a lemon dijon vinagrette, fresh berries, and sticky buns!
Dessert: Cupcakes, courtesy of Sweet Mandy B’s from the city – thank you Becky!
