I was recently asked to review the new Train album and without hesitation said YES! Train songs bring back many fond memories for me. ‘Drops of Jupiter’ takes me back to lazy summer car rides with a great friend and my sister. ‘Hey Soul Sister’ comes on and I’m back to driving along the ocean in Florida with my boys. And most recently, we enjoyed them live at Ravina. Love bands that can span through different generations.
So, the new album. It’s funny – I can’t recall the last time I’ve listened to an entire album. It’s all about the individual songs these days, right? I’m glad I did though. The popular one, Angel in Blue Jeans, obviously stands out. It’s great. And in general, the whole album is what you would expect: fun, upbeat, with a generally family friendly vibe. Totally safe to play at that bbq with the kids.
The best one though? ‘Don’t Grow Up So Fast.’ Thankfully, it came on while I was alone because some major ugly crying occurred. From the title I’m sure you can get why. Moms, download and listen, on either iTunes or Amazon. Are you so with me? It’s the perfect song to remind you that even though your toddler is driving you insane, you wouldn’t want it any other way.
Thanks to One2OneNetwork for this opportunity – love the album!
Disclosure: I participated in the Train Bulletproof Picasso album review program as a member of One2One Network. I was provided a free album to review but all opinions are my own.
