Do you ever wonder other moms secrets? Like actual real beautiful day to day hard working moms? So often I see a darling one at the park and think wow, she looks so great! I wonder what she is doing so well. With that in mind I thought I’d begin a new series on ALFS – Everyday Moms. These are moms I know, moms that have been recommended to me, moms that inspire and are beautiful inside and out. Let’s peak into their lives just a bit, shall we?
Meet Amanda!
Location: Deerfield, IL
Job: Executive Recruiter
Kids: Madi (7) and Graham (5)
You’re in your closet – what do you reach for first? It depends totally on what my day looks like! More often than not though I wear something like this sweatshirt… LOVE it. And of course some variety of yoga/ altheisure pant.
Hands down the one beauty product you can’t live without. Only one! Guerlain Maxi Shine Lip Gloss, I rotate 3 colors a season, gold is my favorite! Its NOT sticky at all and smells nice as well as doing what lip gloss should, make your lips look and feel EXTRA kissable!
Your daily moisturizer. Are you happy with it? Arcona Peptide Hydrating, Yes love it because it works for AM and PM and it is organic!
Your nightly moisturizer. Are you happy with it? A few nights a week I add Arcona’s Advanced A serum. It won a Vogue award a few years ago and it does wonders.
Something in your shopping cart online right now that you want to buy – budget is no limit. I’m not the only one who dreams this way? I love when the companies send me deals for “forgetting” about my items in my cart, like these boots….
How do you feel your beauty routine changed when you became a mom? In every way. First I never had dark circles until I became a mom so I used Cle De Peau’s concealer like it was going to not be available anymore… luckily it is! Also just anything that made my routine faster and easier to get out of the door because we all know it’s a struggle.
Biggest indulgence you allow yourself. SHOES! Beautiful not practical at all shoes!
Tell us about your kid(s). 7 year old girl, Madi, sweet, shy, smart, an animal LOVER and an expert negotiator. 5 year old boy, Graham, endless energy, loves his mama, sensitive yet ALL BOY, who keeps me on my toes constantly.
What is your biggest struggle as a mom day to day. Getting a chance to really connect with both of my kids each day, not just doing what needs to be done but having 5 minutes where I can learn something new about them or their day.
What is your biggest happiness as a mom day to day. Anything that makes my kids happy or laugh, it MAKES my day! Also if I don’t have to remind them to use basic manners, it makes me believe that they do hear what I’m saying sometimes.
Snap your fingers – you could have a magic fairy help you with one thing around the home every day. What is it? When I’m reading to my kids at night I wish a fairy would come and finish the dishes and put away the toys so I can plop on the couch after the kids go to sleep.
Because you are oh so pretty, tell us about your favorite feature! My smile 🙂 I have a hard time faking emotions so if I am smiling it means I’m truly happy on the inside too!
Beautiful smile, Amanda! Thank you so much for hanging out with ALFS and sharing your littles with us! And I have to say, those boots are EVERYTHING!
